The January Audit

There is a specific kind of quiet that follows the holiday roar. It is a space where we usually rush to fill the void with new versions of ourselves. We lean into new habits and new pressures. But this year we are leaning into a different kind of curiosity.
Instead of a resolution, we are stopping to look around, and performing an audit of what we find. At Bixby Tales, our 2025 pillars were (and remain) Thrive, Trend, and Trek. This January, we are starting with Thrive, the foundation that makes everything else possible.
These are some recurring and helpful themes that have helped us along the way:
Wellness as a foundation
What if wellness isn't the reward we earn after the hard work, but the ground we stand on while doing it? When we treat it as foundation rather than luxury, something shifts. We stop reacting to the world and start responding to it. We move from a state of survival into a state of intentional living.
Returning to nature
Nature remains our greatest healer. A trail does not ask us to be faster. It simply invites us to be there. Whether it is the way the light hits the bark of a winter tree or the crispness of the air at dawn, these are not just details. They are the reset. When we notice these moments, we realize that our days are meant to be seen and not just endured.
The company we keep
Our frequency is also determined by the people we allow into our orbit. This month, we are looking at the energy of our inner circles. True self-care includes protecting our peace and choosing friends who make us feel like we can breathe deeper. Travel may help us reset our geography, but our connections reset our souls.

What we are carrying forward
As we move into this new year, we're committing to continue to live with intention, making choices that honor who we are and what truly matters.
Living deliberately. Prioritizing the health of our minds and the joy of our spirits. We aren't just checking off a calendar. We are inhabiting it.
Here is to moving a little slower, traveling a little deeper, and noticing the magic that is already in the room.
What are you carrying forward?
